Nonprofit Leader Joins Yakkety Yak in VP Role

Meet Jackie Gibson, now available to provide marketing strategy for your organization

Ready for some exciting news? Yakkety Yak recently added a powerhouse to our roster, hiring Jackie Gibson as VP Account Director. Jackie brings nearly 20 years of experience providing leadership and marketing strategy for a variety of health care organizations and nonprofits including National Headache Foundation, American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, and HumanGood senior living.

In her role as VP Account Director at Yakkety Yak, Jackie acts as a bridge between our nonprofit and business clients and the Yakkety Yak content team, serving up thoughtful marketing and fundraising strategies and guiding initiatives from a nugget of an idea to a detailed plan. She fits right into our team with her heart for purpose-driven work, and her experiences with nonprofit marketing programs will help our clients thrive.

“I’ve always been drawn to causes and organizations that are tangibly helping people lead better lives, particularly as it relates to mental health or health care,” Jackie says. “As a former Yakkety Yak client, I can vouch for this talented team and the powerful storytelling they’re doing for mission-driven organizations. I’m looking forward to bringing this storytelling and my skills in strategy and communications to more companies and causes.”

Prior to working at Yakkety Yak, Jackie built the marketing department at Illinois-based nonprofit Pillars Community Health. There she drove awareness and referrals for more than 30 service lines (including a Community Mental Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, a domestic violence shelter, and more). She also partnered with the organization’s Development team to craft compelling fundraising for end of year appeals, Giving Tuesday, and gala-related campaigns.

Most recently, Jackie led the marketing department at The Cradle, an Illinois-based adoption agency. There she crafted a new marketing strategy with an emphasis on SEO and paid ads that resulted in incremental growth of the agency’s client base and an eightfold increase in qualified leads. Get ready for their 2023 Centennial Celebration (and check out their new YY-built website at www.Cradle.org).
