The Recipe for Better Content Engagement

Content, Social Media and SEO have to all work together for better content engagement.

Content marketing, social media and SEO all work together to promote your content and provide relevant information to your audience. Successfully garnering results through search engines isn’t solely about keywords or meta descriptions anymore—it’s about producing great content and getting the right set of eyes on that content via social media and paid advertising. While content, social and SEO may have their own rules in this ever-evolving digital marketing landscape, you really can’t have one without the other.

To truly do SEO right means taking a holistic approach in your content strategy. Begin first by thinking about your content goals – what do you want to accomplish? Then, consider your target audience and create your editorial calendar accordingly. Ensure your website is alive and well by posting fresh blog content on a consistent basis. Plan out a social media strategy, picking the right platforms for your demographic. Share your content, directing people back to a website with proper headlines, working links, satisfying images and more. Analyze the results and find out your content successes and failures. Then, do it all over again until you’re not only reaching your target customers, but acquiring new visitors as well.

These new visitors are practically meaningless without proper management of both on-page and off-page SEO. Off-page is all about backlinks and link building, proving to Google that you’re an authority in the field and trustworthy enough to feature in search results. Featuring guest bloggers and having them link back to your website is a great way to strengthen off-page SEO. On-page tackles things like keywords, metadata and title tags; making sure Google can find your website in the first place so it ranks higher in search results. Fantastic content, relevant keywords and plenty of social sharing buttons are important in this context. Without them, people will have nothing to engage with when they visit your website.

Finding success in SEO isn’t something that happens overnight. There are many steps that you have to take, from writing, to editing, sharing and creating a strategy. However, as social media, content and SEO sync up and work together, you’ll provide the best experience for your audience, enticing them to return again and again to your website.
